The social welfare authorities in Colombia have officially announced an extension for the collection of the seventh cycle of monetary transfers under the Colombia Mayor program. The new deadline for beneficiaries to claim their funds is set for Sunday, September 20, providing additional time for those who have not yet received their payments.
This initiative aims to support nearly 2. 8 million elderly citizens across the country, with a total public investment exceeding 639 billion pesos.
As of the latest report, the program has successfully reached 91 percent of the intended population, but approximately 241,830 individuals have yet to complete their withdrawals. The director of the social welfare agency emphasized that the goal is to ensure that no eligible senior citizen is left without access to their entitled financial support.
Officials have reiterated that the collection process is strictly personal and does not require any intermediaries or additional fees. This extension is part of a broader effort to streamline social assistance and improve the financial security of the nation's elderly population.
