The Spanish national team has officially confirmed its 23-man roster for the upcoming Nations League opening match against England. Head coach Luis de la Fuente, who traveled to London with a larger group of 26 players, was required to make three final cuts before the encounter.
The players omitted from the final squad are Fresneda, Roberto Fernández, and Víctor Muñoz, the latter of whom struggled with physical issues during the World Cup. In terms of squad numbers, Pau Cubarsí has taken the number 5 jersey, previously worn by Marcos Llorente, a choice that reportedly pleases the Barcelona defender.
Meanwhile, Fermín Lopez will wear the number 9 shirt, and Marc Cucurella returns to his preferred number 22. Additionally, Dean Huijsen has been assigned the number 2 jersey as he rejoins the national setup.
