Ian Poveda, the forward currently playing for Atletico Nacional, is dealing with a significant legal situation in England. The player has been formally accused of six charges, which include obstruction of justice and alleged fraud.
The legal matters involving the Anglo-Colombian player came to light following a virtual court appearance ahead of a domestic fixture. On September 23, 2026, Poveda appeared via video conference before Judge Robin Mairs at the Leeds Combined Court Centre.
During the virtual court hearing, the twenty-six-year-old football player entered a plea of not guilty to all charges brought by West Yorkshire Police. Two other English citizens, identified as Adekunle Adeyemi and Anthony Howe, are also linked to the same ongoing criminal case.
Both co-accused individuals similarly formally entered pleas of not guilty during the judicial proceedings.
