2026 Spain Black Flag Report Highlights Worst Rated Beaches

The environmental group Ecologistas en Acción released its 2026 Black Flag report, marking 48 Spanish coastal locations as severely compromised. The most common threats are unchecked urban expansion, marine waste dumping and significant loss of biodiversity.

Andalusia tops the list with ten flagged beaches, followed by Catalonia, Galicia and the Valencian Community, each with six. The findings call for urgent implementation of protective measures to safeguard the nation’s shoreline.
