Alvaro Fidalgo set to be only Spaniard in Mexico World Cup opener
The 29-year-old midfielder, who honed his skills at Real Madrid Castilla, has an incredible journey to the global stage. Santi Solari, who relaunched him as a creative midfielder, played a key role in his move to Club America.
Fidalgo stated that joining Real Madrid at age 14 made him mature quickly and see things differently. He became a standout player for the triple champions America in recent seasons.
Aside from the coaching staff, he is the lone Spaniard expected to participate in the inaugural match.
