Andoni Zubizarreta appointed as Atlas's new sporting director

Andoni Zubizarreta, 61, brings a wealth of experience from his playing days at Barcelona, Athletic and Porto, as well as his recent technical and managerial roles. Atlas finished sixth in the Clausura and is undergoing a transition under a new owner who aims to overhaul the sporting department.

Zubizarreta’s mandate includes scouting young talent, instilling tactical discipline and reshaping transfer policy. The club hopes his leadership will return them to the top tier of Mexican football.
