Champions Cup Revises Bonus Point Rule to Require Triple Score Margin
European Rugby Union has revised the Champions Cup regulations for the 2026‑27 season. A try‑scoring bonus point will now be granted only to teams that score at least three times the opponent’s total, eliminating the previous four‑try threshold.
The change is expected to alter tactics, rewarding dominant attacking play and increasing pressure on defensive sides.
