Eminem Loses Trademark Fight Over ‘Shady’ Brand in Australia

Eminem entered a protracted legal battle in Australia over the right to use the ‘Shady’ apparel brand. The court ruled that, starting August 1, he may not sell any clothing, footwear, hats, bags or leather goods bearing the ‘Shady’ name, and ordered him to pay the legal expenses of the rival firm ‘Swim Shady’.

The decision limits Eminem’s non‑musical ventures while underscoring the protection of trademark owners. He retains the right to appeal the ruling by July 22.
