Former Swimmer Álvaro Muñoz Enters Seminary to Train as a Priest

Álvaro Muñoz saw his life turned upside down after a 2011 interview at a swimming pool in Teruel, in which he made racist remarks, went viral across Spain. The backlash was severe, with Muñoz facing widespread condemnation, legal complaints, and even physical assault as a teenager.

He has always maintained that those words did not represent him and that they were the mistake of a child. Now, after finding solace in faith and through the guidance of a local parish priest, Muñoz has entered a seminary to pursue the priesthood.
