India To Host 2032 UCI Road Cycling World Championships In Pune

The International Cycling Union has officially announced that the global road cycling championships will be held in India for the very first time in history. During its recent congress held in Montreal, the governing body confirmed that the city of Pune has been selected to organize the prestigious 2032 edition.

The leadership of international cycling celebrated the historic expansion into a new territory during the official announcement ceremony. Pune successfully secured the hosting rights by prevailing over competing bids from Dutch regions that will instead stage events in 2034.

The Indian city recently took its first steps into international competition by hosting its inaugural multi-stage professional cycling tour this year. In a remarkably short span, the location has transitioned from launching a local event to preparing for the arrival of the world's elite pelotons.
