IRS Tax Refunds Continue to Arrive in July 2026

Tax season may feel long over for many Americans, but IRS refunds are still being sent out in July 2026. The timing depends largely on when a return was accepted, how it was filed, and whether the taxpayer chose direct deposit or waited for a mailed check.

Most taxpayers who file electronically and choose direct deposit usually receive refunds in about three weeks, though mailed returns, paper checks and returns with processing issues can take longer.
