José María Giménez says he has two years left at Atlético Madrid
Uruguay defender José María Giménez told reporters he has a contract that continues at Atlético Madrid and he will respect whatever decision the club makes. Uruguay will open the 2026 World Cup against Saudi Arabia.
Coach Marcelo Bielsa highlighted Giménez's experience as vital for the squad. The veteran said he is in good form ahead of the tournament and ready to play at any moment.
His deal runs until 2028, keeping him at the Spanish club for two more seasons.
