Kilian Jornet Withdraws from Ultra Western States 160km Race
Renowned ultra‑runner Kilian Jornet suffered a meniscus tear after finishing 40th at the Zegama race and consequently withdrew from the Western States 160km ultra marathon. The Spanish athlete, an eleven‑time Zegama champion and 2011 Western States winner, has long been celebrated for his endurance.
However, his chronic knee issue made this year's attempt too risky, prompting him to prioritize rehabilitation. Jornet aims to return to competition stronger and tackle future ultra events.
