Klopp backs Demichelis for RB Leipzig head coach position
Martin Demichelis is slated to become RB Leipzig’s head coach after Jürgen Klopp’s endorsement, with the club prepared to meet a €3 million release clause. Demichelis has built his coaching résumé across Europe, most recently guiding Real Mallorca in La Liga.
Klopp, acting as Red Bull’s Global Soccer head, praised Demichelis for his modern tactical approach and familiarity with German football. Leipzig is aiming to strengthen its staff as it prepares for a Champions League campaign this season.
Should the deal go through, Demichelis would become the second South American to manage the club.
