Luka Doncic Leads Reshaped Lakers into 2026-27 NBA Season

The Los Angeles Lakers are preparing for the 2026-27 NBA season following a major offseason roster overhaul. For the first time in nearly a decade, the team will compete without LeBron James after his eight-year stint in Los Angeles.

Under new ownership, head coach JJ Redick guides a transformed squad featuring significant personnel changes. Despite the extensive roster turnover, the franchise maintains high ambitions for championship contention this season.

Superstar Luka Doncic returns as the primary foundation of the team after securing the league scoring title last season. Doncic will once again share the backcourt with guard Austin Reaves as part of the primary lineup.

Redick faces the challenge of integrating new team elements quickly before regular season play begins. The Lakers look forward to establishing their new identity on the floor as competition resumes.
