Maja Chwalinska suffers cruel Wimbledon exit after holding match point

Maja Chwalinska, who reached the Roland Garros final last season only to lose to Mirra Andreeva, faced Mananchaya Sawangkaew in the opening round at Wimbledon. The Polish player was in firm control and serving for the match when she slipped and injured her ankle.

Leading 6-2, 5-3 and holding a match point, Chwalinska was unable to recover from the setback. Despite receiving medical treatment, she ultimately lost 6-2, 5-7, 2-6, barely able to move in the final games of the third set.
