Movistar Team loses Romeo and Cepeda to flu A during Tour
Movistar Team has been hit hard by a flu A outbreak during the final stages of the Tour Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alpes. Ivan Romeo tested positive early Thursday morning and was forced to withdraw from the competition.
Cepeda suffered similar flu symptoms and also abandoned the race. Team manager Eusebio Unzué warned that losing two riders will strain the team's tactics and leave a significant gap in the lineup.
He added that the remaining cyclists will push on while the team steps up health protocols to prevent further infections.
