MXGP: Lucas Coenen claims fourth win after holding off charging Herlings
Lucas Coenen took his fourth win of the 2026 Motocross World Championship season at the Portuguese Grand Prix. The Belgian rider, aboard his Red Bull KTM De Carli, withstood intense pressure from Honda HRC Petronas' Dutch rival Jeffrey Herlings throughout the race.
Herlings found his best pace in the closing stages, rapidly closing the gap and seriously threatening Coenen's lead. However, the extreme pace eventually took its toll on the Dutchman, allowing Coenen to cross the line first and extend his championship campaign with another statement victory.
