Pavel Sulc – Czech Playmaker’s Role in Lyon’s Attack Unveiled

Emerging from Viktoria Plzeň’s academy, Pavel Šulc was signed by Olympique Lyon for €7. 5 million after being named Czech Footballer of the Year in 2025.

Capable of operating as a second striker or an attacking midfielder, he exploits late runs from deep and a strong presence in the box. Šulc adds a new dimension to Lyon’s wing play and goal‑scoring options, while his partnership with Patrik Schick could trouble opposition defenses for the Czech national team.

Last season he recorded 42 goals in 103 appearances, exceeding his expected‑goals (xG) metric. He is poised to become a key offensive weapon for the Czech Republic at the World Cup.
