Steve Clarke Steps Down as Scotland Head Coach After World Cup Exit

Steve Clarke has officially stepped down from his position as Scotland head coach after the team failed to progress beyond the group stage at the 2026 World Cup. Clarke, who took charge of the national team in May 2019, had previously guided Scotland to back-to-back European Championships in 2021 and 2024, though they were eliminated in the group phase on both occasions.

Despite having a contract until 2030, Clarke chose to leave his post and penned a farewell letter to the Tartan Army thanking fans for their support throughout his tenure.
