Tadej Pogacar Begins Controlled Training Return for 2027 Season

Tadej Pogacar has officially begun his journey back to training on the bike following an early conclusion to his 2026 season caused by a crash during LaVuelta. The Slovenian rider is taking a step-by-step approach as he prepares for the upcoming 2027 campaign without rushing his recovery.

Working closely with UAE Team Emirates-XRG trainer Javier Sola, Pogacar is utilizing structured virtual sessions on MyWhoosh to build his initial fitness. Team principal Mauro Gianetti emphasized that the primary goal is to let the champion rebuild his form in a controlled environment free from unnecessary pressure.

Current workouts remain far from his regular high-intensity regimen as the medical and coaching staff prioritize long-term stability. The gradual progression aims to ensure full recovery before increasing workload levels on the road.

Pogacar expressed satisfaction with returning to light activity while focusing entirely on rebuilding his foundation for future challenges. The team continues to monitor his progress daily to adjust training volume according to his physical response.
