Walker Kessler Praises Lakers Defensive Potential for New Season

The Los Angeles Lakers are entering the new NBA season with a renewed focus on their defensive identity. New center Walker Kessler has dismissed concerns about the team's defensive weaknesses, expressing confidence in the roster's capabilities.

Kessler highlighted the perimeter pressure applied by his teammates and the high basketball IQ of Kevon Looney as key factors. The big man emphasized that the team possesses the necessary tools to become a formidable defensive force.

Kessler’s primary role will be to protect the paint, a task he has excelled at throughout his career. Despite missing time last season due to a shoulder injury, he has consistently averaged at least two blocks per game.

The Lakers are banking on his rim protection to elevate their overall defensive efficiency.
